Café Sausalito, 1967

The word photography comes from two Greek words, photo (light), and graphos (drawing), making the definition of photography - drawing with light.

I took my first photo in 1967. Then in 2017, after 50 years of taking photographs, I sat down and went through all my photos and memories looking for a theme or thread that tied all my photos together. It was at this point that I discovered ‘light’ was actually my subject.

Light as a Subject (LAS) is a theme that runs through my work. It reveals, dances, reflects, presents, and brings vision to the eye. When I’m most successful it shows itself, to be captured.

This site is a retrospect of my LAS images.

Please Enjoy.
